Describe your symptoms as best you can. Very detailed.

Got an SES light?

no SES light, suddenlty it would not start in first or downshift.

however

I did a few 3000RPM "rwd burnout" type maneuvers and it just came back. go figure.

Basically it would not downshift to first, and would not start in first, just second from a stop.

A few possibilities. Not all trans related. TPS is one.

I owe you for a MAF sensor. Let'* talk this out. I may have a spare for you to try.

Can you pull codes at all?

I have spare TPS too, no actron scanner sorry. no SES light tho. It seems to be ok for now though, cant seem to reproduce the problem.

I am getting close to getting rid of this car anyway tho License plates expire next month so it would be nice to get rid of it - replace it with a L67 because if the trans dies it is going to the salvage yard. There is one trans shop within 100 miles here, AMMCO..and I am not paying 2100 bucks to have it rebuilt.

anyway I plan on going skiiing tomorrow so I will be going up about 3000 feet, most of that drive is in 1st so we will see if it makes it (I have USAA towing insurance for 100 miles if needed so all is good)

It wsa left here because this problem is identical to what we would see. If it were some other accessory, wiring, interior or something like that, it would be on "other H". Simply to prevent confusion with new members in this section.
