Default Looking for front bumper cover 98 SE White

Does anyone have a suggestion on where I can find a cheap 96-99 Bonneville SE front bumper cover....So far I have found $149.95 + $69.95 */H to be the cheapest. And its just primed...It would be great if I could find a front bumper that was white in color for a 96-99 SE model....Any help with this is greatly appreciated.

By the way I had posted a thread earlier about putting an SSE bumper on the SE model I had...I in fact did find a 1997 Bonneville SSE front bumper assembly (same color: white) for around $250....I cant really tell if this bumper will flow correctly with the trim on the doors...If it did, should I buy it or keep the originality of an SE bumper??? Overall the SSE bumper is way cheaper because it’* painted the same color and would fit the 98 Bonneville …..Just for thoughts.....Thanks Ryan

Ryan...some of the bumper covers are interchangeable. You really need to look at the trim match from what you have to what you get. I replaced both my front and rear with primer covered from Bumper City on eBay. I have a 2000 SSEi and I believe I ended up with 2002 SSEi covers.

I wouldn't worry about the originality of the bumper cover, unless you want to keep your Bonnie bone stock.

Default Help with painting the bumper!!!

The GOOD:
I just went down to Liberty Auto parts in Evansville, IN and found a 1998 Bonneville SE bumper. This bumper is in excellent shape...No chunks missing, nothing...Got it for $34.99...compared to the 250,00 at local salvage auto:crazysmile:.....Not a bad deal at all!!!!!!!

The BAD
The only problem is, the color of the bumper is a light brown, metallic sort of color....I have to paint it white in order to match my Bonneville....I have never painted any part of a car....I don't know what to do!!! I went to Oreillys and gave them my paint code....I guess they can make a pint or a quart of code specific paint for my vehicle...Then they start to talk about so many parts of Thinner, reducer, paint filler, clear coat.......confusing....Do you have any step by step instructions on how to paint this bumper.......I know that I need to wet sand the bumper with 320 grit sand paper to prep it for paint..

Default Amazing what you can do with spray paint and a little time!!

Well since I found that bumper in Evansville, IN, decided to buy some cheap spray-paint and paint the sucker.....Believe it or not, it looks great!!!! Overall 3 cans of $6.94 Bright white automotive spray paint and 1 can of $6.94 spray on clear coat did the job...I got very lucky with the color matchup ......That clear coat sealed the deal on that paint...Took water to it, tried to scuff it up....HOLDS UP VERY WELL!!!! So $34.99 for the Cover, About $28.00 for the paints and clear coat = Not bad at all.. Very Pleased

Nice score on the bumper. Glad it all worked out for you. Thanks for the follow up on this thread as it is irritating when threads just die with out an ending.
