Default Last call for coils!

Which coils should I use? I have one bad coil, and am currently running Jseabert'* coils. His car will be hitting the pavement again soon, so I need new coils. I want to replace all 3.

I am using the MSD coils on mine. I did notice a difference over the stock coils. It helped smooth out idle just a hair and I can tell the throttle seemed a little more responsive then it did before.

You may not get the same results, but I wouldn't expect it to be much different.

No adapters needed unless I go with their DIS4 system, right?

Right. They are direct OEM replacement fit coils. I am however getting the adapters myself because I am also getting the MSD DIS4 controller unit as well (both parts on order ).

Will-
Definitely go for the MSD'*. Can't beat the price or the extra power/engine response.
Good luck and be sure to post results as I too would like to get them -will eventually.

Hey Gord,
You gonna have the 'i' ready by September 24th (wednesday evening)? I am going back up to Brainerd for their last open street drags. Just thought I'd check if you'll be roadready yet?
Also, I was just thinking about the balance shafts and how removing them on the Chrysler 4 cylenders was good for around 10-15 hp. How about on our cars? I know removing them won't make for as smooth a running motor, but the extra hp might come in handy at the strip.
I'm also wondering if removing them would cause the the knock sensor to retard timing?

Stylez

How much is the adapter and DIS4 setup, not including the coils?

Will, there is an adapter for each coil. its just a plastic spacer about an inch high, that goes under each coil. each adapter has a black and a white wire coming out of it (for the 2 prongs in the coil pack) so you can connect the DIS-4 directly without having to cut or splice your existing OEM ignition. The adapters come with longer screws (for obvious reasons. )

i paid about 700&sumthin for everything. dont have the bill in front of me as it was a package deal from Ty but i think the coils were like 40 each. The adapters were half that price roughly.

I am going the same route, thru Ty. My bill is a little less than 700 but I also already had the coil packs.

The adapters run around $28 a piece (need x3), and you can get a rough price off jegs.com for the DIS4.
