You'll be able to run that trans fine, if you don't go WOT at every light. Now, if you beat on your car no 4t6x trans can help you....

I put over 20,000km in my Fiero with the 3800SC and a 4T65E with no problems. I didn't use the HD version but that may be because its a light car. 4T65E HD tranny'* can easily be found at many wreckers varying from $500 to $1,200 in price depending on mileage. Only difference is in the differential and one axle shaft is a larger diameter. I wouldn't hesitate to swap a 3800SC series II into any GM vehicle. Dan

sounds like a lot of work...i was debating on doing it on my car if the engine ever went, and i think i will still go for it, but i shouldnt have to worry about that for a while ive go 97k miles on mine...but u guys r a lot of help

You know, it I didn't already have a project car, I would have been all over this. I still can't believe that nobody on here hasn't done it before (or said anything about it).
