I've replaced the antennas on my 93 and 95 with wrecker power antennas from a 98 and a 99. The 98 antenna was installed in my 93 almost 4 years ago and has been trouble-free.
I open them up, clean them, lube them, and re-seal them before install. They'll outlast the car this way.
Neither antenna cost me more than 25 bucks.

Odd, the power antenna on our Bonneville is working perfect at almost 200k miles. Of course, now that I said that, it will fail tomorrow.
