Default knocking noise

Hi i'm Dan and 18 years old just got on the site because i just bought my uncles 93 SSEi off of him with 103,000 miles on it. he was a mechanic so its in really good shape and everything, however, there is a kind of knocking noise under the hood at idle like maybe some berrings would be bad or somthing. my uncle to me its been doing that since the day he has bought it and says its the supercharger but i'm not dumb or am I? supercharger shouldn't be making a repetative fast slight knocking noise should it? also if there is anyway at all to check the oil in the supercharger please tell me cause i would like to i know that they need it too. thanks for your help

your problem might very well be your supercharger coupler. how many miles are on the car?

Sounds exactly like a supercharger coupler (this is good news here). The coupler is available (and recommended) from ZZPPerformance.com. It costs about 25 dollars and you will need 3 bottles of supercharger oil (some left over for top-ups) as well as a few gaskets. The complete procedure is documented on this site under techinfo and it is not too difficult a task with the instructions. Cheer up things could be worse!!
