Whomever among you wishes to sell "their kits" PLEASE LET US ALL KNOW.

You should have plenty of customers

My Brother is a very nervous person by his nature, so he opted for the "ready-made" kit, whatever the price. Otherwise, I'd be for just doing the reaming and sleeving of the upper unit.

Oh Well
Dude! You missed out on the one that gmtorque has for sale in the "For Sale" forum. He was selling it for a reduced rate, too...

Check out the thread...

Ok, I think I understand why you guys are reaming. I should clarify a bit. When I did mine last summer (at 112K) it was because of a coolant leak. Turned out it was the TB gasket. When I pulled the upper, I saw no deterioration at all but unlike Bill, I did not do any scrapping or further inspection as I already had a new upper. Also, I just press fitted the sleeve and did not use any JB Weld on the new upper. So far I have had no noticable ill effects from the smaller (.500 I.D.) stove pipe.

Bill, sounds like you are on to another good idea there. Man, I wish I could tell you what the inner diameter of the Ken-Co sleeve is, so we could calculate the air gap. Anyway I'll measure it when the new kit arrives, and post a reply to this topic.

And just like Ranger, I have had the .5" Ken-Co tube installed on the '99 now for a long time, with absolutely no ill effects either. (I have to wonder if, from GM'* standpoint, there may be a slight difference in emmissions if the tube is smaller than their .625?? Who knows.

But on the other hand, I seem to remember about a year ago someone actually checked into the "internals" of the EGR valve itself. Seems like they found out that the internal passages within the valve are actually much smaller yet. So if that is the case, I guess the .5 tube is no sweat. -(just thinking out loud, again,, )

Just to clarify some more FWIW, I custom made my own pipe & sleeve. Just mention that so no one makes any assumptions about anything I said or any dimentions I gave being associated with the Ken-co kit.

Default egr pipe

I'm really bummed about this EGR pipe.
I guess if it leaks I'll rip her back down and modify it.
Otherwise "it goes or it blows".
Should last another 100k as is. I'll be sure to keep an eye on the coolant level though.
