I'm going to head out on a limb and say yes. Meanwhile I'm off to an FSM to try and figure out the "what" that you need to do to it.

Sorry... FSM section 10-9-1 says nothing about the sunglass holder. Someone with experience will see this soon.

Little wire thing???
probably a spring coil that is broken.
1. is the little hook attatched the the door. if not, it broke off and you will need a new door.
2. can you see the tiny square part that the door hook goes in to.
if so. does it move. if not there has to be a spring broken inside.
3. if it is # 2 try to move it with a pen or something to close it and not use it.

While were on the topic, why doesnt my car have a sunglasses holder. It has the part thats just naturally open? My friends 99 SE has it, could it have to do with the middle front being a seat instead of the floor shift?

Is the hook supposed to be where the door hooks shut? If it is they sent me a defective part.
