Went for a drive and the fluid'* still pretty red. Tested on a white napkin.

I think its getting worse. Im not driving it at the point, but it seems worse than yesterday. i can post a vid clip later if youd like. I can hold it to the floor from a stop to near redline and it takes forever. My dad with his loaded Power Stroke van towing our 22 foot deckover with a compact backhoe on it could very well outaccelerate me.

My local mechanic with the scanner suggested disconnecting the TCC solenoid. No change, though it didnt lockup. He bought a brand new Snap On scanner and I made an appointment with him Monday. I wish I had the $3400 or so he paid for it...

She'* done :(

I knew it was coming, just couldn't predict when. She served well. 172k miles, with plenty of full throttle take offs, towing, high speed cruising, and later on it her life, she dealt with the torque provided by a supercharged LN3.

What do you guys predict is wrong with the transaxle/torque converter? I'll go ahead with the scan on Monday, but I, long with you guys, think the drivetrain just gave up.

Below is an MPEG4 video clip. It'* pretty small and short. Plays fine for my in Quicktime but lemme know if its not working. Video is a little choppy and my window'* rolled down, but you can see the strain going on. I let off the gas near the end and allow it to shift to 2nd

Might want to right click (or control click for my mac users) and save it.

At this point, pull the pan off of it and see what goodies are at the bottom.

Mine was FULL of spent clutch material.

I can think of a few more 'should have'*'.

But a drain plug won't tell you anything. You need to drop the pan for inspection. That'* why I didn't fall for the temptation of the plug. I need to see that pan fairly often. I have too big of an investment in my trans, and need as much advance warning of impending doom as possible. Anyone recall the recycling I found in mine a couple years ago?

My prediction is you need a rebuild or new trans.
