Well I had the guy at the auto parts store help me test the purge solenoid. That wasn't it. But tonight when I got in it and turned the key to the on position the fans turned on, both high and low. WTF? Does this have something to do with my SES light and code 26?

Bump........

Guys, I really need to get this fixed, anyone have some ideas? I have noticed that the fans aren't comming on anymore but I notice the SES light comes on fter the car starts to warm up, so that leads me to believe maybe the temp sensor for the computer is bad? Maybe it got dammaged when I had the system flushed a few weeks ago?

Do you think the temp sensor is reading correctly? One drives the gauge, the other goes strictly to the PCM. Are both hooked up? Do they read roughly the same resistance?

When you fans came on, was your AC on? Or in Auto?

Yes they are both hoocked up. No, I didn't check resistance on either. No, the AC wasn't on and my car doesn't have the digital temp. comtrols, so there is no auto. Does that help? :?

Ok, changed both the temp sensors and now the car is reading hotter than before, I have a 180 stat in there and the gauge always read around 180 now it reading 200 plus, I and my SES light is still on.........

Any more ideas?

Edit: I just did the paper clip trick to check to see if there are any other codes and whenever I do this, the fans come on, both of them at full speed. With the key on and the heat/ac **** is off.

Scanning and deleting codes will turn off the light temporarily. From that scan, determine the problem and fixing it will keep the light off.

Other than that, please list if you've tried these things.
