I was looking at my 96 Regal factory service manual and noticed they had the intake manifold torque values reversed.

Someone else ran across this same misprint in an earlier post.

In the Techinfo section the upper and lower intake manifold torque values are kind of vague.

87-90 Vin 3 (in sequence)..............47
87-90 Vin C (twice, in sequence).......88 (In/Lbs)
Throttle body bolts....................20
91-99 (except 95-97 Vin 1 and K).......89 (In/Lbs, twice, in sequence)
1995 Vin K (twice, in sequence)........89 (In/Lbs)
96-97 Vin K (in sequence)..............11
95-99 Vin 1............................11

According to Alldata these torque values are correct that you posted. When I took my upper intake off today, I could pratically turn all the 8mm bolts by hand without the ratchet. One the upper intake manifold I would assume those torque values are correct because when you tighten up the upper intake if you tightened it too tight, you could possibly crack it.

89 in-lb - upper intake
11 ft-lbs - lower intake.

It is disturbing to find misprints, like this, in factory service manuals.

Usually it doesn't matter..the mechanics don't use them..lol
