intake booooooooooo!!!
anybody here have a ploblem with there intake gasket going bad? the shop tells me mines cooked, i brought it in because i was gettin huge amounts of white smoke coming out the back ( on hard acceleration only), people tell me its a head gasket? Iv heard of a "block test" to determine the problem, would that pin point if its an intake or head situation? iv checked the oil its fine, it doesnt appear to be losing coolant. im not gonna drive it again until its fixed, thank god for caa

I assume you're talking about the outlet gasket for the SC. I've never heard of one going, and if you had a head gasket gone, you'd almost certainly be mixing coolant and oil, or at the least, losing coolant. Pulling the SC and replacing the outlet gasket is really a cake walk. If you end up doing it yourself, change the TB gasket and the 2 coolant o-rings between the SC and lower intake, too.
We're gonna need some more troubleshooting to be sure.

I've fried two of the oulet gaskets for the SC. Never had any coolant or anything leaking although there is a coolant passage thru it by the TB. My problem was rough running under load.

would the */c outlet gasket being gone cause white smoke to come out of the exhaust? its weird im not losing coolant at all but it seems to be burning something somewhere for me to have white smoke like that? performance wise it kinda stumbles until the white smoke stops then its perfectly fine, it only does it if i stop for a sec then go it puffs out a big cloud then its fine.

Hrmmmm ........... I had one other thing like this happen before. When I blew out my Catalytic Converter it came out in the form of a fine white powder. I would stop at a light and wait for a minute, then hit the gas. Fist thing that happened is a white puff out the back.
Check to see if the white smoke is either:
a) water vapor such as coolant, oil, etc... It will most likely leave the inside of the tail pipe damp and will probably condence on something held right behind the exhaust.
b) powder, I actually held a piece of cardboard behind one of my exhaust tips while my friend reved the hell out of the engine. This created enough flow in park to kick some more "white stuff" out the back. A few pieces came out just large enough to recognize the honeycomb shape of the insides of the cat.
Maybe one of those ideas will point you in the right direction.
