Can I add an SSE trunk air compressor to my SE?

Of course. How much work you want to set yourself up for? You have to get a compressor, wiring harness, air lines, and do a lot of soldering. IMO, it isn't going to be worth the effort.

The first thing I'd do is see if the harness is already there

Easiest place to check is behind the rear seat under the carpet near the right rear strut tower.

Open the trunk. Standing right in the middle of the rear of the car, it'* in the FAR right corner of the trunk, between the right rear strut tower and the rear seat, down low. BEHIND the carpet.

Looking for a pic.......Don't have one. Thought I did. Anyway, as I recall, it was a black 2-wire connector plugged into the selector valve (selects between inflator and struts). Looking at the plug straight on it'* shaped like a 'T'.

So if you pull your carpet back in the trunk behind your right rear passenger, you should see it easily if it'* there. Or at least see where the valve would be mounted.
