Default Igniton Coil Wiring Sequence

I was swapping out the igintion coils from my 1995 SSE to my 1997 SSEi. I noticed that the numbering sequence is a bit different between the two cars. The 1995 SSE'* sequence is: Top = 456, Bottom = 123. the 1997 SSEi'* sequence is: Top = 426, Bottom = 153. Basically, the middle row is reversed. Can someone please verify this? The 1997 SSEi' coils seem to original stock and are already labeled that way.

You read the 95 from front of car to back...right?

95 and 97 should be identical. 6,5,4 and 3,2,1 top to bottom aka rear to front.

Yes, I read it from front to back. If they're the same, then the 1997 SSEi'* coils wer labeled wrong from the factory. The middle coil'* labeled 5 at the bottom and 2 and the top.

Yes, I just checked my other 1997 SSEi and the middle coil is 2 at the top and 5 at the bottom. So, they're swapped?

No..

The coil is merely designed that way.

I'm still not sure what to do. Do I follow the coil markings and wire it that way for the 1997 SSei and wire it the other way for the 1995 SSE? How would I know once I start the car? Would I get a warning light?

come to think of it, your 97 wouldn't be happy with the 95'*. Don't the 97 SSEi'* have a more "powerful" ignition coil than the se/sse'*
