Default Can someone help me???

Hi everyone!

My name is Ward and I own a '96 Bonneville...

I love the car and although when I 1st bought it I had to get a used motor (out of a 1999) that was pretty much the only major problem...until recently.

Under acceleration I get a serious hesitation followed by a "check engine" light...

At Autozone I scanned with a scope and got P0300 "RANDOM/ MULTIPLE CYLINDER MISFIRE DETECTED" and "P1441 MANUFACTURER CONTROLLED AUX. EMISSION CONTROLS"...

Are these 2 related? also the problem seems to occur after it'* warmed up...

Help!!! after reading some posts i'm going to start with new plugs and wires and a fuel filter...

Any suggestions as to what to do if this doesn't fix it?

Thanks,

Ward

ok everybody heres the update...i connected my car to a snap-on scanner which can diagnose while driving, and i found that i would get a very occasionaly misfire on cylinders 3 and 4, but the only problem was that i would get the car to shudder and do the problem i was experiencing and no misfires were recorded...another thing just to add was that it would only say that the cylinder would misfire twice, now i dont know if thats a lot or a little and any input would b greatly appreciated

Welcome to the Greatest car forum you will ever run across. Starting with the wires and fuel filter are easy and smoetimes (in your case the wires especially) the biggest culprit.

Just one more thing, please create a signature (which in in the profiles menu) and include your car'* year, model, mileage and what mods you have done to it. Welcome again.

Even though your plugs and wires are under 10,000 miles old, they can still be a problem. They can break. I recently had a single plug wire that was open, causing a misfire/shudder at idle. It was a pretty easy fix. So don't overlook the obvious, and definitely check the plugs and wires to those cylinders.

(and can we ask Ward to start a new thread? I mean, welcome and all that, but dude, you're threadjacking.)
