Ignition Control Module for 3800 series 1
I've been told by a mechanic that the '94'* are notorious for going through those modules. I've replaced mine twice within 50k miles. Is he right ? and if so the NAPA store sells 3 different brands. Borg-warner for about $200.00, and 2 lesser brands for about $170.00 and $140.00 Would the borg-warner brand last longer? or what is the life of a typical ignition control module?
P.*. thanks Mike1995, the jumpy tach needle turned out to be a TPS sensor.

I had to replace the ICM in the TGP last year. If it was the original one... It lasted for 20 years.
Heat is the enemy of ICMs. If there is anything you can do to keep the heat away from it you will prolong its longevity.

Some heat reflective tape on the bottom of the icm works best.
