Any Idea'*? Im still thinking its either the wire to the solinoid or the igniton switch its self. I will test it this weeked ive been really busy . I'll aslo check the securety light. what shuld it do im not familar with the bonne'* seceruty system

start by checking and cleaning all grounds, battery connections, and starter connections. Do you have the resistor chip in key? try using another key if so.
and cleaning the contacts in the ignition.

If the interior lights are on, and you try to start it, do those lights dim indicating that the starter is at least drawing current? Or, can you measure the battery voltage at the battery while someone turns the key? Does the voltage drop? If you have a meter, crawl under the car (raise and support properly if you need more room) and measure the voltage at the battery terminal Also on the terminal on the selenoid while someone turns the key.
If you do not have a meter, you could try this. Do this only at your own risk, and if you have any concerns at all, do not attempt it. If you do it wrong, you could at the very least cause a severe burn by shorting battery voltage to ground.
If you have a short jumper, attach one end to the selenoid terminal. Then, take the other end and briefly touch it to the battery terminal on the starter. If the starter starts to run, the starter and selenoid are likely good, and your problem is in elsewhere, swtich, wiring, etc.

If you aren't getting power to the solenoid to engage the starter, check the starter enable relay. This is enabled by the VATS system when it sees the right resistor value.
However with vats not getting the right value..97 will prime fuel pump and you'll start then die out when it kills the fuel.
I forget if the earlier years will crank.. I think they do.

Thanks for the help but i know its not the starter . the first thing i did was jump the solinoid. and it stared right up. so i took the starter in had it tested and it was bad so i changed the starter. it still didnt work . then i took that starter back and tested it and it was fine. if i give power strait to the lead going where the ignition line is supost to go to it starts up.

How long does it start and run for? If it runs for about 5-10 seconds or less that'* probably VATS cutting off the fuel. We need more information to assist you.

Absolutely confirmed, you do not have an ignition problem. Don't even think about ICM, coils, plugs, or wires any longer.
A little more descriptive on the failure please. Does the new starter engage AT ALL? Or ONLY when you short the solonoid? Do the interior lights work?

Sorry for the short explonation. here is what happend it was working fine. then I turned it off, I went to start it and nothing. you dont even hear a click. its like your not even turning the key, exept the fact taht everything turns on liek the lights stereo and all that.so what im saying is it wont start at all. it wont even attemt to start nothin happens the starter doesnt spin or anything.
