Default IF I need a trans?

What years are a direct fit? If I can get a used one from the junkyard I need to know what years and what other vehicles I could use.

Also what happens if the trans I get doesn't have the same gearing as mine? I have 2.89 could I get tranny with say 3.05 or 3.20(I think those are the numbers) and be able to run it? Does the PCM know that the gears are changed?

Later, Mike

There should be a tag on the trans. You'll want to match up that information and I believe you need to be year specific to ensure the connector is the same.

You would need to change your PCM over from a car with that same gear ratio to the best of my knowledge. And I believe you have a 2.86.
