Spank you very much!

On topic, it'* normal to see a variation from car to car just from the error of the Tach. Use a scantool to see what it really is. When I calibrated my rpm'* on my Gtech, I used the scantool for reference. My Tach varies very little from the scantool, but I've heard of others that vary as much as 300 rpms from true at idle.

That'* about what I see on mine. Cold start around 1100-1200 rpm. After its warmed up at idle around 600-800 rpm'*.

Scantools are great. I can actually see the rpm that the PCM is 'requesting' and trying to maintain, as well as the rpm the engine is running at. This can be a big signal when troubleshooting a problem.
