Unfortunely my trans guys doent know much about performance mods for the 4T60E. I am the first one in his 20 years in business that has asked him to build up a 4T60E
So he is really unterested to see how it turns out. Do you know what kit Sandrock went with?

I believe he got a Kit locally...
I got a Kit off E-Bay as it included all of the steels, all of the friction plates, all of the seals, O rings and gaskets as well as a new Modulator, and thrust washers as well as bearings.. The one below is the same one I bought... Also has the filter, and forward and reverse bands..
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/4T60E...mZ180165943072
and I got the shift kit here... Its more along the line of a shift improver... but will help and allow you to bypass the PWM Solenoid so that the TCC lock will be virtually instant.. Also corrects for some slip issues in the 60-E
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/TRANS...QQcmdZViewItem
My Hardened reverse reaction drum I got from here

Hope that helps

Dude, would you happen to have the link to the kevlar bands?

Keep in mind, the bands you choose may dictate what parts of the shift kit can and can't be used.
I'm not familiar with band failures on the 4T60'* being a problem. I'd lean towards OEM bands or what the shift kit suggests for them.

This guy sells the other 2 bands for the 4T60E as well.
Im curious as to how Kevlar bands would affect the shift kit? The kevlar bands are just a stronger band , right?
Friction makes a difference. If you give the shift kit something it'* not expecting, your results may be poor.
The transgo shiftkit instructions clearly not to follow through with the firmer TCC lockup portion of the kit if you are using woven carbon for the converter.

When I dissected the '95 Riviera trans to harvest the internals, I noted the condition of the bands. This trans had about 90k on it btw. The bands had little to no noticeable wear.
When jrs3800 and myself dissected the '93 SSEi trans to see what havoc was created in that slushbox, we noted the condition of the bands in there too. This trans had 174k on it when it was ripped out of the moorings. Condition of those bands...looked damn near identical to what the 90k unit had.
Like Wren said, the bands really don't need to be touched...this is why alot of 4t-60 kits do not include them in their general overhaul kits. Only time they really need to be changed out is after a catastrophic failure...like when the "coffee can" frags itself.
FWIW, in both transmissions I had apart, the thrust washers (or lack of rather) were the weak links.

So generally speaking, the rebuild kit that you got included everything you needed? I just dont want to buy a "kit" and end up not having eveything that I need. I also dont want to skimp out on stuff that should be replaced or updated. I did my motor the right way and replaced or reconditioned everything. I dont want to half azz the tranny.
