o.k. a bunch of you have this superchip installed...but does it kill your gas mileage...also, does it require you to run preemo fuel?

I've never run the superchip....but I'll vouch for JET! Enough said on that, other than my mileage may have gone UP slightly if I can keep my foot out of it! I was already required to run preemo, as I have the SC.

Keep a sharp eye on Allmachtige......he'* replacing his superchip with a Jet.
You won't be able to ask Turtle about the Jet, cuz he never slows down to answer your questions, and the wind noise is too damn loud at 150mph+, anyway.

As far as the Superchip, it does require 91-93 octane fuel... As far as using more fuel, I'm not sure... I havent heard all good as far as the Superchips go... But on the other hand I have heard nothing but good about the Jet chips... And on the Jet chips you have some options.. If you are staying stock and just want a little more you could go stage 1... If you have a series of decent mods than you could go Stage 2.. Its all in what you want.. I've heard a lot of good about Jet so far.. Ask, Willwren, Turtle.... They can tell you for sure..
Jet chips for 97+ Bonneville'* don't have Stage 1 or 2 for reference. Just a chip since its OBD-II and the computer is very variable up to about a 40% increase in horsepower from stock. I will try out one on my 99 until we have to custom tune it for some turboige.

Jet chips for 92-94 Bonneville'* can either have Stage 1 or 2 for either N/A or */C.

96 has the option of a Power Control unit that'* taps into the MAF and TPS wire.

Chips then go again for 97+. Just one chip, no stages.

Hope that helps everyone out.

How specific are the jet chips, both stage one and stage 2, for the 92-94 bonny'*? Would it be possible to use a jet chip for a 94 bonny on another 94 gm car that uses the 3800 n/a series 1, say perhaps a 94 buick lesabre

Thanks

Michael

That'* a good question. Jet only lists the Regal for Buick offerings in 94. It would depend on your PCM and various sensors. If they're actually the same (I don't see why they wouldn't be) then it'll work. Hector may be able to shed more light on this, or you can email sales@jetchip.com and they may be able to answer it.

Warning....even if they say no, or they're not sure, doesn't mean they're right! They just may not know.

For anyone else considering this, I would suggest NOT going stage 1. The mods required to go stage 2 are well worth it. I'd hate to see a stage one chip go out the window when you modded later and wanted the stage 2, although you could probalby sell the stage 1 on this site. Hand-me-downs. Might be fun to see how many cars a chip could go through!
