Default I don't trust my PCM....need advice

What'* up everyone.

I just put a new motor in my 95 SE. The motor is great, but I'm still getting some of the driveability symptoms i had before i replaced it (i.e., hesitations/misfires underload).

I'm thinking my ECM/PCM is in limp mode. I've replaced almost everything on the car, so that might have something to do with it.

REPLACED
Fuel Delvery: Pump, regulator, injectors cleaned at rebuild.
Ignition: Alternator, battery, ICM, coils, plugs and wires
Others: crank sensor, EGR, O2, TPS.

I swapped a MAF of a 92 SE and it didn't help.

I need advice on what to do. I'm trying to locate a salvage yard PCM, but no one around here has one.

I've heard about the dealer "flashing" the PCM. Will that fix my problems?? or do I have to find another PCM? Can I get one from Murray'*/Autozone?

Any advice is appreciated.

Why are they so proned for failure?

When I do get one, all I have to do is switch the PROM.....is this correct?

Mine went at 5 years. Been great since. I think mine is starting to go a little quirky, but the car ran fine with it.
