Hey, I'm going to try to work on my elc today since it is so nice out. Are you saying the 97 ssei compressor is in the trunk? When I hit the button in the trunk I hear a click but that'* it. The car sits level, but when people get in the back, it does not level. The only fuse I can find is in the engine compartment (30 amp) and it'* good. Some specific suggestions for 97 ssei would be great.

there is power going to the unit when I adjusted the sensor in the rear to simulate a load. But the power that is being sent does not start the ELC. But when I do put power to the ELC manualy the compressor kicks on and starts raising the car. In fact, the car is raised a little above the level position right now. I just left the wire connectors apart. If I hooked them back up the air pressure would be let out. :? :? :?
Remember that if the inflator is on, It prevents ELC. And it may be switching a ground, not power. You have to look at your FSM for that (DrJay still has mine).

So if your selector valve is bad, it may be part of the problem.

The pump is actually under the car, just behind the rr wheel. Gotta go at it from underneath. My pump in my 1998 SSE had been pretty inactive when it should have been active up until about 1 week ago. Now every time I pop the trunk and put something in or someone climbs in the back seat the pump kicks in for a a couple seconds and the back end comes up noticably, but not overdone.
