My HUD unit is in UPS'* hands, I'll know soon if the connectors are there.

As far as i know you don't have to. People say that you do but i have seen it work with out a special windshield.

It won't be as clear or bright. You'll see two images very close together. One will reflect off the inside glass surface, the other off the outside.
