I used to hold 3,000-3,300 rpms tops, at 90-95 mph.

Forever. It'* less than half of redline.

I routinely cruise at 2700 RPM for hours on long trips, although in ovedrive.

J..

I am from Charlotte, NC

So far, there has been no SES or other alerts indicating a problem that would cause a code to be thrown. I have been told by my mechanic that he believes the issue is the TCC lockup solenoid, and that it may be having a mechanical or physical failure rather than an electric failure, since there are no codes.

I suppose as long as I watch the trans fluid for any sign of burning/degredation, I should be ok. I do not routinely use the Bonne for long trips, as my daily driving is usually just a few miles on the interstate, and then roads with <45 MPH speed limits. But I do occasionally need to make the 3+ hour trip, over mostly flat terrain.

Thanks,
John

I didn't get 25 mpg at that speed I don't remember what I averaged, but my mileage wasn't the greatest in general. I never stayed at 90mph for a long period of time though, but when I was at that speed I was only at 3,000 rpms.

But I assure you that there are Bonnes that probably get better mileage than the 2.4L I have at the moment.

A TCC problem will throw a code, I just had it. Excessive TC slip won't, IIRC.
