My hood doesnt stay up on its own any more. Do any of you know a
source for those shock absorber looking thingys. This must be the problem I think. Thanks

hood struts ...... yes the gas charge has gone from them, try your local auto- recyclers ( wreckers ) for some.

You can get new ones from most auto parts stores relatively cheep. The stores should have a cross-reference chart. If not, measure yours (extended and retracted)and compare it to what they got. Buy both if you have two.
