Default Hit a pothole, now noisier suspension. What might be wrong?

I was driving back in May and I hit a big pothole with the left front and left rear wheels. Ever since then, the car makes some more noise when going over bumps, and the left side of the car feels a bit different than the right. Sometimes after the car has sat for a while, and I turn it on, put it into drive, and turn the wheels, I get a slight clunk from somewhere near the LF wheel. The rear left side seems louder over bumps also...

Is there a likely culprit, and what may be the best way to look for it?

Maybe you just knocked the alignment out? Or maybe thhat was the final straw for the struts?

The only things that car really make noise when the suspension moves are the bearings/pivots, and the strut. I'm gonna guess you just toasted the valving inside of your strut. A strut with bad valves, on one side only will mess you up some. But do keep in mind some roads are higher in the middle, there are some roads i'd swear i need an alignment, then i get on another and it'* fine.

Other but very remote possibilities, would be stuff like your spring went through the coil isolator. DO you have CCR and accompanying struts?

Broken front stabilizer link ??? By the way they can be broken but look ok, if all the pieces stay in place.

If the pot hole was that bad, I would say you cooked your struts. Maybe damaged the bushings in the mounts, but I would say struts.

Turning would be horrible if you did, and there would be a heavy grinding noise between the pole and sway bar.

The struts only have about 34,000 miles on them, I put them in myself. Is it possible to damage a fairly new strut?

Could ball joints, control arm bushings, strut mounts, or tie rods be a culprit?

All of them could, but I'd have to say the strut is in a position to take the most damage. Leverage is a funny thing. I wouldn't suspect your endlinks, but those are easy enough to check. You, of all people, know all about those little suckers

HOWEVER, it may be possible you BENT a link? I'm at a loss trying to figure out the force directions. Alot would depend on how the tire entered the pothole, but if the damage happened coming out, and the force was in the rearward direction, I'd agree the strut could have taken a helluva shot.

IF it is the strut, wouldn't it still be under some warranty?

Warranty is possible - I got them from GMPartsdirect, so I'll have to look into it. Changing the struts was a pain - that'* the last thing I want to do again!
