Default Helpppp again please !!!! now a "check engine" lig

:( Ok they replaced the fuel pressure reg and i got about 2 miles down the road and the check engine light came on,I turned around and went back and he put the scanner on it said "high idle" he checked the vacuum hoses and replaced the one from the fuel pressure reg to the throttle body and cleared the code. I then dorove it about 20 miles and again the light came on so I stopped at an Auto Zone that was near by and they put the scan tool on and it said I think code # 507 idle.I went home and remembered that when I was first having problems I had turned in the stop screw thats on the throttle control but it never seemed to do anything so I tonight put it back and unhooked the neg battery cable for about 15 minutes and reconnected and the light is still on. This car has NEVER before had a check engine light now im thinking shes on her last leg, lol. Any clues or does the light not go out even if you fix the problem without clearing the code ? I thought if you pulled the cable and fixed the problem the light would go out but the code would stay logged ??? Any way to get the light out ? It seems as if the screw was the problem the light would have come on after I changed the screw setting and that was a few days ago..... Thanks guys!

Please put your year and trim level in your signature.

After that, give it a day or two to settle in and re-learn.

Depending on the error code it can take several ( up to 30 for some ) starts to clear a fault.
Other than the ses light coming on how was the car driving? Notice any problems? Easy to start, good idle etc?

Default light

If they cleared the light with the scan tool and it came back on maybe the computer is not reset properly. Try unhooking the batt for 30 min. then upon first start
To perform the "TPS learn proceedure" upon first startup, turn the key to on, wait 30 seconds, then turn the key off. Now start the vehicle and let the idle learn.
This is the sequence to relearn the idle speed.
As stated earlier the PCM probably just needs to relearn.
Glad to hear it is running good now.

Default well...

The light went out after driving it 20 miles and has stayed off. My question is is there a way to shut the light off if it happens again w/o using the sacn tool ? I have heard that if you remove both positive and negitive cables and touch the cables together it will clear the code and shut the light off ???? Im putting new plugs in today the others have been in about 65k miles and they are Bosch Plat'* Im using the AC Delco Irtunim this time,im also going to clean the throttle plate to see if either of these help my excesive (4 or 5 turns) starting prob. I do not have to touch the gas anymore though. I also wondered the code readers that AutoZone sells for 69.00 has an erase button on them will they erase the code and turn the light off ? Thanks

Don't use those Bosch plugs!! Bonne'* don't seem to like them.

Pullin the battery for about a half hour or so is supposed to clear any codes you have. May or may not work, tho. I did it to mine, and I still got the light. But I know what it'* about and ain't too worried for now

Default update....

I changed the plugs and used AC Delcos at 6.00ea and removed the honeycomb pc from the throttle body and cleaned everything real good with carb cleaner and it seems to run the same. Maybe im expecting too much. When its warm and you shut it off and restart right away it seems to crank about 4 times before it starts....Is this normal ? On cold starts in the am it fires right up.

This is definitely not normal. My 70,000 mile series II will crank barely once and fire up, whether its cold, hot, whatever. Hard starting hot can be a fuel pressure regulator leaking into the manifold, which is a known issue with the 3800s.
