Default Help it will not crank!

Okay guys I am lost. 1992 Bonneville SE 3.8 v-6 148,000 miles the fans were not working so I checked the fuses, they were fine (process of elimination) so after checking fuses including the fuse block under the dash and the 2 under the hood now the car will not crank???? It turns over but will not run, now it has me puzzled any help would be appreciated. I am going to the parts house to and getting a new fan relay.

Also I drove the car around the block (it is my sons car) and the car actually picked up speed without my foot on the peddle would this be the throttle positioning sensor, or is the throttle cable messed up? He said it just started doing this the other day. This car has been a great dependable car for him (he is in college and working).

Problems:
1. Car turns over but will not run now after checking fuses.
2. The car picks up speed while driving, throttle linkages and everything appears to be okay could this be a throttle positioning sensor.
3. Both fans are not coming on even when turning on the air conditioner

Any good help and advice would be appreciated.

I'd suggest you first double check that all the fuses are fully seated and in the right place. You may have disturbed something that was on the verge of failing while you were checking fuses. Maybe a badly corroded wire that was barely hanging on and you bumped it and broke it in two.

Check all the fuses again. Did you check the fuses under the dash on the passenger side?

Yeah, in case it was not known, there are 3 fuse locations: under the hood, under the driver side dash, and under the passenger side dash. Your fan problem might be the relays for them. When the A/C is on, do the fans come on then?

Well, PIBBOM

APlug In Brain Before Operating Mouth!

Check those relays then, maybe the ceramic resistor on the fans too.

Default okay update

well I went and had the battery checked and it was bad (battery was less than 6 months old) so the car now cranks and runs no problem. I did get the fan relay while I got the new battery and the fans still do not work.

Still chasing why the fans are not coming on

and the throttle still has a mind of its own.

For those of you that have responded you are very much appreciated, and thanks in advance for any help.

I am about to go out and look on the passenger side fuse box. Everything on the drivers side fuse box and under the hood seems okay and I am double checking to make sure I did not bump anything. I quite drinking along time ago but might start again today..LOL

Here'* a wiring diagram that may help. I've actually got 2 different versions. This one showing a 40 amp fuse & the other with a fusible link. If you need the other one let me know.
