Default Help me fix my gremlin!

I am a new member and after much difficulty with my Bonneville I decided it was time to call on the guru'* here. Please bare with the long story but I just want to paint the full picture for you guys.

Start off by saying it is a 1994 SE. Recently I have replaced the starter and both positive and negative battery cables.

This is where my problems began, finally got it running after it would not start and drove it for maybe 2 days. On the second day when coming to a stop the car would stall out. After shifting into neutral it would fire right back up and I would be on my way. Now it would not do this all the time and seemed to happen sporadically.

After a few days of driving like this, the car stalled out(in a parking lot thankfully) and would not start up again. The car was towed and sat for 2 weeks. I came back and just for the hell of it tried to start it up(after no work had been done) and it fired up no problem! It seemed too good to be true so I took it for a drive and 1 block down the road it stalled out again and would not start. The car again sat for this time about a month, again not receiving any mechanical work and low and behold, the car again starts and is on the road. I have been driving it for 3 days now and it stalled out once this evening but again fired up no problems.

Now I should mention that when driving the car has no grunt. If going 60 kmh and I push the gas to the floor, the car does not shift down or do anything it just slowly accelerates from whatever gear it is in. Is this somehow related to the stalling/no starting problem or do I have 2 separate problems?

It has been to a mechanic but was working at the time and without spending a fortune the mechanic could not diagnose a problem that wasn't there. I need your help!

Could it possibly be a faulty MAF or MAP sensor? Fuel pump? Ignition control module or ECM? This may not explain why sometimes it stalls and starts no problem. Could a faulty TPS be my problem?

Does my car have an A/T shift solenoid? Would a faulty solenoid not shifting down cause the car to stall and also explain the no power problem?

Thanks for your help!

By not starting are you saying it will turn over at the right speed and not start, or is it not even turning over?

just ran into the same problem of stalling out in my daily driver, which is a 92 old toro with the 3800 series 1 in it, turns out if the crank sensor is bad the engine will stall intermittently, talked to some people, even googled the problem and its supposed to fix it, will let you know what happens, everything else ive checked.

I agree with Bill, test the fuel pressure. Could be a bad fuel filter.

Let me know how this turns out. I have been told this could be a potential problem, but am unwilling to start buying parts to not ensure fixing the problem.
