ok i have a 96 bonne and my heater isnt blowing out the main vent well i found out why, underneath my dash by my feet there is a arm type deal that comes off where heat blows on your feet. now that arm is connected to this like vent type thing that when it opens heat comes in well that arm isnt moving and i can do it manualy but i just want to know what that part is so i can get a new one that works. Anyone know the name of that part?

On the driver'* side are vacuum actuators. They are connected by 1/8 inch plastic vacuum hoses to the programmer on the right side shown as #6 in the diagram above.

One vacuum actuator is position to rotate a horizontal axis vane that closes off the air flow above the dash vents which makes the air come out the dash vents.
One closes off the air intake and I believe has a vertial axis. It'* a restrictor in the line to slow the movement of the recirculate vacuum motor.
One closes off the heat on the floor using one hose to it and has a second hose which balances it at midmovement to give bilevel heat by partly closing off the floor vent.

If you're having trouble with vacuum getting to one of those you can replace the connector at the programmer if it'* sucking closes. You can connect the two tubes together with a small piece of aquarium hose or rubber 1/8 inch internal gas line.

The vacuum motors are open on the back so you can stick your finger in and move them the way they'd move with vacuum applied.

You should be able to have the motor running for vacuum and switch between all the settings and feel each of the actuators when they are applied. If one doesn't move it may have a torn diaphragm. You can check by connecting another vacuum line from one of the others and see if it works or connect a long vacuum line from the motor to check.
