Unhappy help don't think its VATS or maybe

OK so heres the rundown it starts once in a while. was told it was fule pump wrong! I replaced it and the fule filter. pulled the plug and tested for spark and nothing it smelt like fule.telling me yeah the fule is getting there.the security light used to blink but now it comes on when key is in and then goes out like it should. telling me that it might not be VATS. by the way it started like a day ago ,and ran smooth. so I don't think it'* the plugs or wires. it has new battery and alternator. what could it be? I'm geting close to taking it out and shooting it dh2. please any imput will help, Thank you.

When it don't start you need to check for spark, and test the fuel pressure. This will narrow down the problem.

Check the plug on the ICM for corrosion. https://www.gmforum.com/t284383/#post1392524

Also clean the terminals under the coils. This sounds like a corrosion problem. However, it could also be a crankshaft position sensor. Lets hope it'* just a dirty ICM plug.
