Help with Brakes Squeaking
Well im back again...this might be a little off topic because its about my 1993 buick lesabre, and not a bonneville...but they are very similar. Well im having this problem with my brakes...when applying a good amount of brake pressure(pressing the brakes)...my brakes start sqeaking, and might i add fairly well too. I seem to have noticed that the harder i press the brakes the easier it is to notic the sqeaking when coming to a stop. Now i would like to fix this but i am very unfamiliar with the braking system itself...i seem to have checked my pads 4000 km'* ago and they seemed pretty good...im not sure if its maybe my drum brakes or ....well im totally clueless so i came to the best place to ask.....Bonneville Club !!
Hopefully somebody in this kind hearted forum may be able to help a fellow member out and solve this mystery

If it'* not the level of the pad, it might be the quality of the pad. As most parts of North America warm up .. we will see more of this type of thing. Humidity/temps play a big part with noises in lower cost brake pads.
Drum brakes will tend to make more of a grinding noise when they're bad.
Who did your brakes last time? Did they use anti-squeal (aka Brake Snot) on them?? It'* usually red, and it goes between the pads and caliper to keep them from squealing due to harmonics/vibration when braking.
