Ok, I've been pretty busy lately but I'm still having this problem.
The one thing I noticed is that it gets worse with time and/or heat. For instance, with a cold car, it takes a couple stop signs for the grinding to occur and it gets worse to a point as time goes on.
I did check out the backing plate and bent it away from the rotor. The grinding didn't change.

Maybe a set of rotors and Ceramic pads?

I believe after seeing the pics in another post that your pads are too hard or hard spotted... I have had this issue with both of my cars and both times it had to do with my Autozone pads.. Been using the Bendix pads for a long time now with no issues except rotor warp...

The Bendix rotors and Titanimum Pads have given me about 9 or 10 months now with smooth stops...
Do you know of a relavely cheap place to get the new rotors and those pads?

On my 95 I had that exact problem on the passenger front side, got into a little Had To Stop Fast because of some idiot and the car grabbed and pulled hard right freaking out the ABS and the Driver... I fixed the brakes that day...

Thats the cheapest place I can think of.. I like the Titanimums soo much( except for the brake dust ) that I have them on both the 95 SE and 91 LE... The 91 SSE will get them once I finally get around to it...lol
Wow around $100? Thats alot cheaper than I thought.. Hopefully I can tackel this this weekend.

Ok. So I installed new rotors and ceramic pads today. Everything seems ok. And hopefully it stays this way.

No more noise? All is good with the brakes now?
Well yeah but I don't quite have my hopes up yet. Remember that when I swapped the rotors from right to left, it went away for a day. Then when I put the spun rotors on everything was fine for a day.
I've only driven it for about 5 mins. or so.
