had it replaced and headsup had 2 reflections. took it back and found out it needed one for the headsup to work. they replaced it with the "right one" and the problen still presists. do i need a GM original replacement part?

They didn't replace it with the right one.

Do you have the heated windshield?

Make sure they get one that matches your combo of hud/heated windshield.

This is a hunch. Look for SHADED HUD in one of the lower corners.

I've seen it on mine, but don't know if it actually stands for the HUD windshield.

On my '97, there was a note printed across the bottom middle that you could read from the inside that said something like "designed for use with head-up display" or something like that. That is for sure the right one. Does your new one have any such note on it?

I had my windshield replaced about two months ago. the old one was not HUD compatible and made the projected image blury. The new one is HUD compatible and the image is clear but now when certain cars are coming at me with the headlights on, I see two pairs... one normal and one dimmer right below the real ones. It'* only certain cars/headlights and appears more with daytime running lights. The windshield is a PPG replacement.

It doesn't really bother me anymore. If it happened at night though, I'd consider the non-HUD windshield again.

Randy...I think it might be time for glasses

Both my 05 and 97 say Shaded HUD or EZ Kool HUD on the corner where the manufacturer name is. Only one says for use with HUD across the bottom. Either of these markings should designate it properly.

Is there any chance something oily is on the window or the hud display plastic.

It'* definately a HUD windshield... the HUD isn't the problem. There'* no double HUD images, just some headlights. I noticed it almost immediately while driving it away from the glass shop so there is/was no crud on it.
