OK engine light came on again today...I took it in and these are the codes that were pulled!

740 torque Converter (traction control?)
361 EST line not toggling
321 no 18X ignition pulse
101 Mass Air Flow Failure

now with that said ..this past weekend I took the MAF off and cleaned the throttlebody..with it still on the car ( so the car was started without the maf to burn the cleaner off while i sprayed it...then replaced the MAF..Don't know if that could cause that code or not!

Thanks to anyone who can help!

Just bought the GM card for 75.00 direct from Actron (dont forget you'll need the ODB-II cable as well CP9111-$45.00). I also had the 361 or 1361 code. It is basically the IC circuit between the PCM and Ignition Module, or "IC not toggling" . After starting the vehicle, the pcm will take over the timing for the Ignition Module. I have the troubleshoot sheet on it (thanks to SSEi95) and will share it with you. PM me and I will attach to the reply.

Almost forgot, I was at autozone today and they had my old scantool for sale for $89.99, I wonder how much the 1984-1995 GM card is for it.... Just though I'd let you know...
WOW my local autozone quoted me 199.00 last week!

I think the quoted price was for the tool alone...

Yesterday when i first started my car to leave from work...the engine light came on and stayed on..so that'* when i thought i would take it to let it be scanned (it did nothing out of the ordinary at that time..just engine light)

a few blocks from the shop..I came to a stop at a redlight...it went dead..started right up!
(check engine light went off at this time and has not returned)

couple more blocks then stoped again..she went dead...started right up!

then it didn't go dead any more for the rest of the trip at any stops!

That info may or may not help!

And what about this torque selinoid thing where is it located? is that a tranny problem?

thanks

The reason I had to buy mine from Actron direct is I couldnt find any cartridges locally, and nobody carried the cable at all. If you look at Actrons sight, I think they want like $212.00 for the whole setup. I pieced mine together for it'* less of a hit on the budget. You have to plan carefully when it comes to buying toys.

You have to travel to different Autozones, if they have them on the shelf, they will give you a clearance price. The 16-pin cable is difficult to find on the shelf - you may have to bite the bullet and buy it from www.actron.com .

However, keep looking, you should be able to find a clearance tool and an OBD-I cartridge at an Autozone. Ask the Autozone nearest you to pull up all of the Autozones that have the CP9110 and CP9111 left on the shelf.

Fuddy..I have a few more questions for you..

740 torque Converter (traction control?) ..My tranny seems to shift well...but I changed the fluid and filter this weekend ( and was it dirty )..and added a cooler(hope it;* not too late)

361 EST line not toggling What does this mean?

321 no 18X ignition pulse I think you said crank sensor..I have purchased it but have not replaced it yet!

101 Mass Air Flow Failure ..Could have come from me disconnecting it while cleaning the throttle body a few weeks ago!

Question..what else could these codes possibly mean..(as in what problem mostly occurs to throw each code) or do they just stand for one thing?

I am in a step by step process to correct this matter!

this past weekend it did it again..twice in one day......It does it like 30 minutes after it shuts off...ex. I got to a store ..stay in around 30 minutes or so..it won't start when i come out..i wait like 10-if more minutes and it starts..although it seems to start slow or with a lightly long crank... :?:

Oh I won a scantool on ebay it should be here this week It has the gm cartridge..but could someone tell me if that is the obd II hook up pictured with it?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2440707707

I also won a coil pack with ignition module off a bonnie with fairly low miles for like 6 bux

thanks a lot
to all who have helped
