It will effect it. but that might be ok if the diff is a different ratio because it would change the speed as well.

a different ratio won't effect the reading at all....

the VSS is on the driven side of the final drive.

Thanks for the info on the VSS, greatly appreciated. The Bonneville goes into the shop on Saturday so hopefully all goes well. Thanks again.
