Why? Because you should be at LEAST over 25mpg on a trip like that, possibly pushing 30.
but as I've said, the mileage has never varied from the day I bought the car.

Also, going 85 might have something to do with it.

I would be willing to bet that is about on par with how fast most of us drive on the freeways. Even then, going 15 MPH faster shouldn't affect your MPG by 10.

At around 265 mles my fuel warning light comes on. I have about 3 gallons of gas left when this happens.

Let'* just say I make 2 or 3 trips to the Davis/ClearLake areas each year, and always carry 3 gallons of Toluene in the trunk.
