Default fuel pump relay

If this relay is going bad would it affect the gas gauge on the dash

Gas gauge moves back and forth without keeping an accurate reading as you reve the motor the gas gauge goes to full, then it goes whereever it feels like

The year and trim level of your car would be a big help (SE? SSE? SLE? SSEi?)

Can you put that in your signature?

And no, the fuel pump relay has no effect on the fuel gauge or sending unit.

It'* probably the float in your gas tank. Or a bad ground which I highly doubt. Just use your trip meter whenever you fill up. Thats what i do. 18gal=352miles. On my car anyway.
