The lines are not visible on top of the tank.

On my '99 SLE, the steel line part of the sending unit is quite visible (and quite rusty and quite leaky).

I'm dropping the tank on my '99 sometime next weekend. I just ordered the $160 sender and $120 pump (and sock and O ring).

I'm so frigging annoyed. This car is getting expensive.

Plus I know I have struts/muffler/tires and LIM/UIM work on the horizon.

Bucky.. start now spraying the ends of the plastic lines with some penetrant. The rust will make them fight you if not lubed ahead of time. ;)
