Default fuel filters

I have a 94SSE with almost 107K miles and I'm sure the fuel filter was never changed. Does anyone know if I should change it anyway. I'm having a little trouble with how it accelerates, or drives in general, and was thinking this may be one of the problems. I changed the spark plugs recently and that helped a lot, but it'* not perfect. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Changing your fuel filter will probably help out. It'* cheap and easy to do. I think the scheduled filter change is every 50k-70k miles. Go for it!

I bought a fuel filter for my 96 SSEI, but when I realized how dificult it was to get to, and that the line was rusted, I decided to let my local shop replace it. He only charged $20.00. Not worth getting your hands dirty for this job, and if the fuel line is rusted to the point where it breaks there is a repair kit that he said he could have used to repair it.

IIRC the fuel line clips on mine are plastic and don't rust, they pop off easily enough. All that gas that gets dumped all over you is a PITA, though.

does this mean the fuel filter on the 92 SE is mounted on the outside of the gas tank or is it just not that hard to get to?

Its not that hard at all. Passenger side frame rail just like these guys said. Do yourself a favor and go to your local Advance Auto / Autozone, etc.. and get the GM Fuel line disconnect tool and you'll save yourself even more time. As mentioned, the only crappy part about it is the risk of the fuel still left in the filter spilling on you, but just be carefull and you'll be fine.
