Default Freezing in Ohio

I have a 1996 with digital Heat/AC controls. When car has reached operating temp, . I have no heat (blower fine) however... if I turn off car and re-start, I will have heat for approx. 20 seconds then back to cold air.

Anyone???

Jim

Sounds like your air mix actuator. I believe there is a access door in the glove box to check it. You will want to see if it moves. If it needs to be replaced I was able to fine this.

Pulling the glove box allows you to see through one of the dash struture support holes. Is your HVAC display flashing?

yes it is. When turning on the heat/ac, it starts in AC mode and as I mentioned once the car is at temp., I can turn off for about 20 sec. of heat then you feel almost like a pressure change and it then goes back to cold. There is no noise as I thought maybe I would hear, if a door or flap closed.
