Default Found: replacement for fender rubber

Ok, so for the 92-95 atleast, possibly 96-99, have a rubber piece between the body and the bottom of the fender. It has a piece of metal inside it, which rusts when the rubber breaks through.

Anywars, having replaced a couple fenders in my day, this piece is always trashed, rusted, squished, etc. I have always wondered if there is a replacement, and one day while at advance auto parts, I found one.

It is an exhaust hanger

It is about the correct thickness, all rubber, and should hold up well. Only thing is it needs a hole drilled for the second bolt to go through. Used it tonight and it works good.

Also should help reduce the chance of rust if the metal piece in the rubber has started, but the body hasn't.

I will be doing the other side of my car tomorrow.

Having not replaced any fenders... where does this piece go?

I think he'* showing the piece that goes between the fender at any point where it touches the body and screws/bolts/pushpins go from the fender and into the body or vice versa.

I took this image from his thread. If you look at where the front door and fender would meet at the bottom (between the jack arm and handle in this picture) there are two holes on the body seam that the bottom of the fender bolts onto down there. This piece of rubber goes between the fender and the seam.

Nice find! Sorry I didn't do that. Would you like a better picture?
