Default Fluctuating fuel pressure

I finally bought a fuel pressure gauge, I hooked it up like the directions said, turned the key, no pressure. Started the car, the pressure jumped up to 37lbs give it a little gas the pressure goes up to about 42lbs and gradually drops the more gas you give it. Sometimes when I turn the key, it jumps right up to 40lbs or so, most of the time not. What do you guys think? Thanks alot guys.

Not sure, the car has 188000, so probably never been changed. Just bought a fuel pump, gonna go put it in.

New fuel pump didn't fix the problem, worse now than ever . Got a FPR ordered, gonna put it on today. I'll post back when I get it running right.
