Good Morning Dave...
Grab a phillips head screwdriver and looking right above the passenger side floor mat..there'* a black panel under the dash. This is the one you want to take off. It'* got 2-3 screws within easy reach across the front. The light will twist and come right out of the socket on the panel.

This way you have good access to a bad location. Right up against the passenger outter wall of the car is the relay and fuse panel they are talking about.

Bob, not jumping on you over the Evap code. It'* been mentioned over and over, but I think ultimately it will be found to be the symptom of the primary mode of failure. I think the Evap is just a victim of the REAL problem.

I know.....and agree. This one is a tough one, and I was hoping that my information might help someone (more experienced than me) to come up with some additional things to check.

I have just received an email from them in florida, the reply was.....

Thanks for the link. It seems to have been the power train fuse. I'll keep an eye on it in case of a short due to vibration, but it was fine on a test drive. I'll keep you posted.

Looks like it was just the fuse that BOB suggested to check....

Thanks to all, I wish I could buy you all a BEER but I can't......

THAT is the best news I have heard in a while. Great to hear that it is up and running (keeping my fingers crossed and knocking in wood, just in case)

A BEER? I'll be down in an hour and a half

To Everyone:
I spoke to my daughter and David and they are happy to say that the car is running like a champ.
He has read this thread and checked the vacuum hoses under the canister and found them starting to look like they would need replacing shortly, he says next weekend he will do that job.
David would also like to thank everyone that has offered suggestions and says that he will be registering on this site when he has the time to do so, with the new baby, it may be a while.

thanks again for all your help,

Nick
