I've done a few, and haven't broken a socket....yet. The nuts generally come loose without too much trouble, but the bolts can be a PITA. If they don't break free fairly qucikly, I leave the nut on the bolt, then take the socket (protect it with something...I use on old extension) place it over the nut, get a BFH and beat the crap out of it until it breaks loose. Wiorking back and forth between beating the nuts, and turning the bolt helps too.

Awesome responses guys. Thank you for the "Gut Wrenching" details. I am having a friend help me when I do them. He has diesel sockets which should do the job. Thank you for your help everyone.
