Over heated engine
Does anybody know how an engine sounds or looks when it is overheated and blown. You see I was driving home from work and I noticed my temp gauge rising, my vehicle was smoking, and the temp gauge was on the boardline of the red zone. I made it home, and haven't driven since. But I don't know if there is any damage to my engine. Does anybody know, how I could tell if there'* damage to the engine?

Where was it smoking? Out of exhaust or in engine compartment?
What color was the smoke?
Have you checked coolant and engine oil levels?
What did it sound like?
Instead of making us guess, please give us your symptoms and we'll try to help from there.

It was smoking from the egnine, the smoke was gray. i looked into the engine and there was coolant everywhere inside, like a explosion or something. I didn't notice a chinge in the sound of the engine.

If you didn't drive it too far after it got hot, you may still be OK. It sounds like you blew a rad hose. That'* not necessarily a disaster. However, there may be underlying reasons, other than just an old hose that caused it.
Clean up things a bit and try to identify which hose failed. Based on the sounds of your situation, it shouldn't be too hard. Then go to the parts store and buy a replacement hose, a new thermostat and gaskets, and some new coolant.
As your engine has no doubt cooled off completely now, replace your thermostat, being careful to follow the instructions in TECHINFO and refill your system, again being careful to follow instructions to properly bleed the system as you refill it.
Let us know what you find along the way because the next step will be to diagnose what went wrong and find out if it was something more than just a failed rad hose.
There'* more, but let'* take things a step at a time.
EDIT: BTW, I just noticed that you have another thread asking about replacing a water pump. Since that appears more than a little related, do you mind trying to keep all this same issue in this thread? Do you have reason to know/believe that your water pump is bad at this time?

I'll be the first to tell you these engines are VERY durable.
fix the coolant issue..fill it...bleed the air out of the coolant system and drive.. that is the only way you will ever know.
The smoke could have been coolant burning off.
