Unfortunately, I am having problems locating the ignition switch etal. I purchased the engine from a salvage yard 45 miles away and he purchased it from a salvage yard in Arkansas (about 250 miles aways). Will keep plugging.

Greetings all,
You were right, DeathRat; it was a wire; actually 3. We tested the wire loom and all of the wires tested OK. We took the plastic and tape off the loom and looked at each wire individually (boy, that is tedious, slow work) We found 3 wires that had bare spots; two of which were touching together (not grounding). This, apparently was causing the code 58, etc. Maybe this will help someone else.
