Default Engine compatibility

I am looking for a new engine and i was wondering if an SE or SSE engine would work for my supercharged bonnie. The supercharger i have is fully in tact and good to go. The only reason i ask this is because i found a engine for 40K for 500 bucks Engine was tested. My car is Vin 1 however these engines are vin K. I am just not sure if the supercharger makes the difference or if the actuall mechanics of the engine are different. I do remember some members asking if they could throw a supercharger onto there non-supercharged cars.
