I am going in on Friday. Planning ahead, if the car fails, I plan to change the O2 sensor (I think it is a Neihoff, couple of years old) and spark plugs on the weekend and get it retested. What other components are the usual suspects? The cat is fairly new at about 7,000 miles or so.

Another question: I have been getting an intermittent code (I can't remember the exact code), but it is likely for BCS. Would that have an impact on emissions? I will eventually replace it but don't want to right now.

Anybody tried those "Guaranteed to Pass" things?

Those "Gauranteed to Pass" things are only Gauranteed to make the manufacturer rich. Here in NJ the FIRST thing they look at is if the Check Engine Light is ON. Instant Failure!!! Instead of just throwing in parts, get the codes read off the computer and then the Gearheads here can tell you what needs to be checked.
